Maximized Sustainability through CRP
Since the 1950s, the USDA’s Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) has led agricultural conservation efforts and helped improve the health and quality of key environmentally sensitive agricultural lands.
By removing critical lands from agricultural production and focusing on conservation practices, those enrolled in CRP have significantly improved water quality and protected valuable forests and wetlands while preventing soil erosion and reducing native wildlife habitat loss.
There are a number of government programs specifically designed to address a large number of farming and ranching related conservation issues including:
- Drinking water protection
- Reducing soil erosion
- Wildlife habitat preservation
- Preservation and restoration of forests and wetlands
- Aiding farmers whose farms are damaged by natural disasters
CRP Management and Assistance
The team at Hunters’ Management Group is well-versed in many government conservations programs. We often assist our clients with CRP and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, acting on their behalf or helping them access and navigate the ins and outs of working with these government agencies.
We’re very familiar with these programs and would be happy to help you determine which programs might be a good fit for your land. We’ll assist however we can, whether that’s helping you with the enrollment process, performing CRP-related tasks or providing mid-contract CRP management services, including:
- Controlled burning
- General maintenance
- Pollinator habitats
- Wetland initiatives
CRP Planting and Seed Mixtures
In addition to maintenance and management services, we’re proud to offer CRP and NRCS approved seed mixtures. These seed mixtures were specifically designed with water and soil conservation in mind. They promote the growth of healthy vegetation on your land and will aid in your conservation efforts.
